Gulf Shores Intracoastal Canal

Today's Reel Fishing Report!  Our group fished the Gulf Shores Intracoastal Canal. Nice slot redfish and Black Drum  started hitting our live shrimp around noon . We fished just east of Lulu's. The redfish seemed to bite best from 12:00 noon to 4 pm. We were successful with the redfish using 14 pound test line and  a 17 pound test leader. We used a  1 ounce weight with a 3 foot leader. The redfish seemed to prefer the larger shrimp that we had in the live well. We love fishing for these redfish and nothings as good as hooking up on a nice twenty inch slot red and fighting him in on light tackle.
