Reel Attraction Fishing Reports " Red Grouper 2015 Season Closure"
Recreational Red Grouper season will end October 8, 2015 at 12:01. The season will be closed until January 1st 2015. The Red Grouper harvest data and fishing reports were higher early in the 2015 fishing season than normal says the Fisheries. This may be due to the abundance of Red Grouper reported in shallower waters than normal this season making the grouper more susceptible to the recreational anglers. Last year in 2014 the season ended October. During that time we had a higher bag limit. The fisheries decided to restrict the bag limit giving each angler the chance to bag 2 per day and keep it open the entire season . To spite the efforts to extend the Red Grouper season, Reports show the 1,900,000 pound annual recreational limit should be take by October 8, 2015 closure.
